Parkway Center is privately owned by Richard Prescott of Sterling, Illinois and is the only locally owned and operated health care facility in the Sterling-Rock Falls area.
Richard and his late wife, Juanita Prescott’s goal was to create a facility where residents could come to enjoy living and to forget about the stress of housework, yard maintenance, laundry, and meal preparation.
Parkway Center had its Certificate of Need approved by the State of Illinois in December of 1986. The first residents moved into the facility in August of 1987.
Parkway Center is a full service retirement facility, which provides Sheltered Care and Independent Apartments for active seniors.
Our caring nursing staff promotes independence while providing assistance with activities of daily living and personal care for our Sheltered Care residents. They also administer and manage medication and a plan of care for each resident therefore removing the burden from our resident.
Our one and two bedroom apartments allow those who can still care for themselves and administer their own medications to live independently while being provided with the following services: meals, housekeeping, maintenance, daily activities, transportation, etc.
We offer an array of activities designed to meet residents social, spiritual, and recreational needs. Those residing at Parkway have a variety of daily activities they may participate in such as: exercises, musical programs, crafts, religious services, outings, etc.
We offer buffet style dining, which allows residents the opportunity to choose between our delicious entrée, soup, sandwich, or complete salad bar featuring a variety of fresh vegetables and salad toppings.
Our ten-passenger plus two wheelchair accessible van is available to take residents to appointments on Mondays and Wednesdays.
